The Black Stag 500 is our lightest weight sleeping bag, ideal for those who need to travel fast and light in warmer conditions, or perfect for sleeping in huts. The Black Stag 500 easily compacts down, great if you don’t have a lot of room to spare and has a centralised zip for optimal comfort and ease of entry/exit. It is filled with a 650 CUI high insulation down fill which gives great warmth-to-weight ratio. Weight: 1000 gms / 35oz

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Cleaning: Close the zip and turn it inside out to protect the water resistant shell.
Hand wash gently using mild soap (not detergent) or a down specific cleaning product. Take extra care with the bag when wet, supporting it's weight from underneath. (We recommend hand washing in a bath).
Rinse serveral times, gently pressing the water out until clear.
For best results, we recommend air drying. Lie sleeping bag flat on top of a towel, once the sleeping bag has time to partially dry, hang outside to complete drying process. Warm, windy comditions are best to air dry. Do not leave to dry in direct sunlight as exposure to sun will damage the nylon outer layer.

Storage: Store loosely in the mesh bag provided, as it will retain it's loft better.
Do not store in the cram bag for long periods and only use the compression straps when travelling.
Air dry, inside out after each use.

WARNING - Flammable protect from intense heat or naked flame.

I've used this bag throughout South America in Temperatures below -15*C and altitudes of above 5,400m. Awesome bag, everyone loves the zip down the middle!

This is an awesome sleeping bag, I've used it at temperatures down to 0 degrees in my Armadillo 1.5 and its kept me real warm. My favourite feature is the centre zip, it's a total game changer! A top tip with this sleeping bag is to put your Thermolite Jacket in its hood, makes for an awesome pillow that doesn't slip from underneath your head!

I justed used the Black Stag 500 on a spring turkey hunt in Colorado, USA. Temperatures were down to 0 degrees Celsius. I was perfectly comfortable sleeping in this bag inside my tent. The fit is incredible and I am 6'3" and 225 lbs. This is my first bag with a top zipper. I was legitimately impressed. It was easy to get in and out of and actually regulates temperature much better. You don't get the ground draft from open side zips. It also may answering nature's call in the night a much faster! Great bag!

As a bigger rig, I wasn't sure whether to go for the 800 or the 500, but ended up going with the 500 and havent looked back. Best bag i've ever had and it suits my body temp and size perfectly. Used all through the NZ roar in mild conditions (and wasn't too warm) right through to -3 mid winter fly camping in the central North Island. The centre zip works well to ventilate, and best of all (as a gear junkie) it's really compact... allowing me more room and less weight in the pack to take all my other 'not so essential' essentials.
