"I gave the Frostline a good workout on a recent Chamois hunt in South Canterbury. Departing into the hills well before sunrise on one of the coldest day of the year so far, it was the perfect garment to wear whilst on the move, bridging the gap between the ultimate warmth of the Thermolite (aka tougher puffer) and the weather protection of a regular outer layer garment. Being able to dump heat during intense activity was a big help, yet retaining enough warmth not to chill down whilst glassing for extended periods. The cut is great, with generous pockets in all the right places, and it's just one of those items that feels good on you".
With the run and gun style back pack hunting I do there isn't a lot of buffer for excess weight or space and I'm often on the move. Having gear that suits your application is important. Stoney Creek's new Frostline Jacket really earned its keep on a recent alpine hunt for Chamois in the Southern Alps. Being light weight and compact it saves precious weight and space when packed down but still provides great insulating qualities at rest yet remains breathable under high excursion thanks to its unique fabric and air permeable membrane. In addition the athletic cut and fit allows for good articulation with generous pockets in all the right places. The Frostline Jacket is perfect for the active hunter.
