Safety

Stoney Creek was the first to introduce Blaze to the market for hunter safety and visibility. Initially a hard product to sell it has now become an essential part of the hunting kit.

BE SAFE BE SEEN

Most items in the bush, including all greens, browns, yellows and reds (and hunters wearing blaze orange) appears as a yellowish green to deer.

The great thing with our eyesight is true blaze orange sticks out as the brightest colour we can see. Deer see UV light as a very bright blue. This may include the sky,dry white grass (white reflects wavelengths) the white flared rump of a deer, human skin or light hair (both reflect UV light) and any hunters walking around in clothes washed in detergent containing UV brighteners - something to be avoided.

A true Blaze Orange, like Stoney Creek's, will appear to glow bright as the light levels drop at dawn or dusk. Watch out for cheap imitations as they are prone to fading and can be overprinted with too much black and they fail to be bright enough to instantly alert other hunters.
