Stoney Creek Boot Care
Rusa Greywacke Boot Care

The Rusa Greywacke boot is designed as a hunting and tramping boot for recreational use. Improper use and non-care may render any warranty invalid.
With proper care you will get miles of comfort and support out of these boots. Treatment and care of your boots is important from day one, keeping the leather supple prevents fibre and stitching from deteriorating.
The Rusa Greywacke has a silicon treatment applied to protect the leather and the boot has an internal seam sealed waterproof liner. This type of system works better when the leather outer is treated regulary. We recommend that you use a silicon based treatment, like Nikwax Nubuck and Suede proof or Beeswax like Snoseal.
Excess water can make the boots heavy. Constant soaking and drying of the leather can damage the fibres, causing the boot to become stiff and eventually ruining the snug fit of the product. When you notice the boots taking on excess water or the leather starts to lighten in colour, it is time to apply a waterproof treatment.
After Every Use:
Use a stiff bristled brush to remove all dirt and mud fromt he sole and upper.
Allow boots to dry away fromt he heat and direct sunlight.
Apply a non-fat, non-silicon based, water resistant leather treatment.
Store in a cool place.
If fast drying is required, use a boot dryer. Do not heat dry the boots with a hairdryer, heater or open flame as doing so can severly damage the product.
NB: Grease, oil, animal fat, dubbin and manyspray on formulas should be avoided because they soak away from the surface and through the leather. This can cause the support structure to break down the leather to soften and reduce insulation properties. Animal fats decay leather and promote fungal growth. Saturated leather cannot absorb perspiration and loses it's insulation value so your foot feels clammy and cold. Beeswax stays where you need it, in the outer surface of the leather.
